District Clerk access depends on age and copy format

Free digital court records

The District Clerk portal lists criminal coverage from 2008 to the present. For an older felony file, ask the office about retrieval rather than treating the online date range as the full history of the court.

Issued physical copies

Official, certified and authenticated physical copies require a paid request to the office. Use its Court Records Request Form, mail or in-person route and identify the filing precisely.

Other office data

The separate Open Records form covers data, subscriptions, subpoenas and information other than court-file records. Choose the court-copy workflow when the object is a filed criminal document.

Define the misdemeanor search before paying for copies

The County Clerk’s search covers Travis Class A and B misdemeanors and Class C cases appealed from municipal or justice courts. It does not search every municipal or justice-court record. Supply full name, birth date and helpful identifiers.

County Clerk service Published terms

Misdemeanor search before 1981 $10 for one name with up to three aliases, plus copies; additional aliases are $10 each.

The misdemeanor-specific table lists an index from January 1981 but only some documents online. Do not apply the page’s separate civil-image dates to every criminal filing. Ask about the particular image or historical search you need.
